Francisco Beltrán Muñoz

Head of School

Francisco has been part of the Newton College community for more than twenty years, joining the school in 2003 as Head of the Philosophy Department. A philosopher by training, he graduated in Philosophy from the Universities of Valencia and Murcia, and that grounding in reason, dialogue and values continues to shape the educator he is today, one who believes deeply in accountability, knowledge and respect.

Over these two decades Francisco has grown alongside the school, moving from Head of Philosophy to Head of Humanities, and then into school leadership as Key Stage 3 and Secondary Coordinator, and later as Head of Sixth Form and IB Diploma Programme Coordinator. He has been a member of the Senior Leadership Team since 2020. Throughout every one of these roles his focus has remained the same, delivering a high-quality, internationally minded education.

Francisco has a distinctive way of working with people, one built on listening, critical thinking and open conversation. He is committed to building positive relationships founded on empathy, something he considers all the more important in a community as diverse and international as ours. For Francisco, a school only truly makes sense when it is designed to serve its community, and when the wellbeing of every child comes first.
